Green mango moringa smoothie

If you could use a natural lift (and seriously, who couldn’t right now), you’re going to love this. Or, maybe you’re already familiar with the energizing potency of Moringa and are right now rolling your eyes that it took me so long to get with the program. Either way, this antioxidant-rich powder is now a true go-to.

Rich in pure plant protein, Moringa is a nutrient powerhouse. Among a handful of healing plants deemed “superfoods” over the past decade, it’s chock full of wholesome fiber and noted for its ability to balance blood sugar, improve cardiovascular health, ease inflammation, and more. Moringa is also rich in Vitamins A, E, K, iron, and calcium. Pretty impressive, right?

The first time I tried incorporating Moringa was when I was trialing different combos for what would eventually be this smoothie for Organic India. Before I tried my first sip, I was as yet unaware of its revitalizing reputation, and I could feel the clean boost almost immediately. I say ‘clean’ because that’s how it felt. Completely unlike a desperate glug of strong coffee, the kind that makes you jittery versus energized. And I can really, really use that kind of pleasant bolstering, because while we are well and there’s much to be grateful for, I am almost always really, really tired. Something tells me you are too.

The best news is, I’m not the only one enjoying this. Anyone with picky people in the house when it comes to getting in those greens (and it doesn’t have to be kids), I’ve stumbled on a really cool trick. You probably already know this, but just in case: it’s all about the delivery. Pick any fruit—or other food that is typically associated with yumminess, like pasta—and tack the word green in front with a sense of fun and authority, as if it always belonged there. In our house, this works best with smoothies. As in, would you like a green mango one today? Or green pineapple? Green peach? No more ‘sneaking in’ the greens! Simply sip the green deliciousness.

Full of tropical flavor without being overly sweet, this lovely smoothie is a great way to kick off reinvigorate the day. Fresh greens, ginger, and Moringa lend a subtle earthiness that sings of health in the most delightful sense.  More soon. xo
